The McEwan, Edinburgh

The McEwan is one of the first, and the largest, purpose-built Build to Rent development in Scotland. The site is part of the re-development masterplan of the former Scottish & Newcastle Brewery site in the Fountainbridge area of Edinburgh. CDA was originally commissioned by Grosvenor who bought the site from the brewery and we were subsequently retained by the current owners, Moda Living.

Planning Permission in Principle was granted in 2016 for a new site-wide masterplan for the 2.15 hectare site. Phase 1, which comprises the first two buildings, includes 337 Build to Rent residential apartments ranging from studios to three bed apartments. Phase 2, which is the third building, provides a further 139 apartments.
