Eyre Place, Edinburgh

Eyre Place sits within Edinburgh’s New Town on the edge of the Unesco World Heritage Site. CDA was commissioned to design a replacement building for the prominent corner site, originally the toll location for the northern entrance to the city, and we successfully argued the case for a contemporary approach to the building design based on the strong Georgian architectural principles around the site.

The design incorporates large glazed openings, recessed balconies and deep masonry reveals. There is commercial space at ground level above an underground car park and the residential units above include 3,000sqft penthouse duplexes.
