Bangholm Terrace, Edinburgh
The development occupies a prime site on Bangholm Terrace in Inverleith, to the north of Edinburgh city centre, an area defined by its generous green setting and proximity to the city’s historic core.
Delivered for CALA Homes, the £4 million scheme comprises 19 large apartments and a penthouse, with integrated garages and off-street parking. The design sought to create a bold contemporary interpretation of the surrounding Victorian vernacular, drawing on the simple massing and ordered rhythm of traditional tenement façades.
A carefully articulated masonry façade with regular fenestration establishes a strong architectural presence, while large glazed openings — particularly to the south-facing living spaces — maximise daylight and frame uninterrupted views across George Heriot’s playing fields towards Edinburgh’s skyline.
