Jewel & Esk Valley
We were commissioned to masterplan the 15 acre site of the former Jewel & Esk Valley College at Eskbank near Edinburgh in 2007. Our design involved demolishing the college building and creating a new residential development centred on a landscaped park and structured around a series of small ‘pocket’ parks. We obtained detail consent for 25 apartments and 100 houses, comprising a mix of semi and detached properties of between three and five bedrooms. The masterplan is very legible and creates a hierarchy of spaces and routes through the site.
